AUSTIN POOLS SERVICE

The thought of servicing your own pool may be daunting prospect to you!  But it's not very difficult to do and you are Genesis Pools Designs the Best Pools in Texas 512-351-2304.certainly capable of maintaining it yourself, if you choose to.  If you give it a try, you may even find maintaining your pool to be something you really enjoy doing, find relaxing or even therapeutic.  The first step recommended by Austin Pools Service, is to get your chemical program and filtration system working in sync.  Toward that end, there are several important points to keep in mind as follows:

  • Clean and Sanitize - You'll need some type of stabilizing chlorine product to keep your swimming pool clean, sanitized and protected from bacteria.  Chlorine products can come in several shapes and sizes (stick and/or tablet) and can be added to the pool via a floater or even in the skimmer basket.

  • Algae Inhibitor - Use this liquid preventative to keep algae at bay.  There are thousands of kinds of algae so it's good to get this under control early on.  The liquid preventative you choose should be poured near the skimmer so the pool's pump can pick it up and distribute it evenly throughout the pool.

  • Shock Additive - Shocking your pool is actually a good thing to do!  Plan to shock it approximately every 2 weeks on a regular basis.  One of the things shocking will eliminate is water soluble bather waste.

  • Pool Cleaning Supplies - You'll also want to purchase a few pool cleaning supplies like a brush, pool net and pool vacuum.  The brush is to brush the sides and steps of the pool.  The pool net skims debris from the top of the water's surface and the vacuum sucks up debris from the bottom of the pool.  This should probably be done at least once a week or more if necessary, depending on the amount of debris in your pool.

  • Pick a local swimming pool company that offers water analysis.  Often this is a free of chare service.  Simply bring your water in and they will analyze it for you.

If you've read this through and cleaning your pool doesn't sound the least bit appealing, another popular option is simply  to hire a swimming pool service company to come out to handle it for you.  This will free up your time to do things that you enjoy more.
